A couple of recent photos

Just thought I'd quickly pop up some photos taken by my sis-in-law Reeze last week, of the kids at the park. Especially for Mum & Dad :-)

Also, some exciting news. Our new little nephew was born only a little while ago (maybe 2 hours ago). No details yet, just a confirmation that he is here from his proud dad. Will post later with all the information. Yay, so excited!

Outside Fun

Finished this layout for Round 7 of Scrapping with the Stars. The challenge was issued by Ngaire Bartlam to include a tree in your layout (or a decorated xmas tree) and I thought it would go perfectly with these outside photos of Jude. Had fun playing with the Hambly rub-ons, and the American Craft felt thickers are a new favourite of mine :-)

We've been having a fun few days. On Xmas day, we met up with family for lunch at an Irish Pub and then we took the kids to see "Enchanted" at the movies. Such a sweet, feel-good movie - just the way I like it. Yesterday Roh, I and the kids braved the Boxing Day Sales at Knox, mainly just getting a few kids clothes, a new board game for the kids and some Transformers for the biggest kid, my hubby :-P

I am hoping for a quiet few days ahead, after such a hectic week. But we'll see.

Take care. Thanks for visiting!

Umm..

Can't really think of a title tonight..LOL.

Firstly, some news. I resigned from my payroll job on Wednesday. It's a huge relief. I've still got another 3 weeks work there but then that's it - yay - I'm so over payroll :-P. There were lots of reasons behind the resignation, with the main reason being just bad timing, as Lana starts kindy next year and goes on a Wednesday, which just didn't fit in with my work schedule, and with work being an hour away, I just couldn't squeeze it in. I've been there for almost two years, and then for another year before Jude was born, so it's going to be a big change in our weekly schedule, but really, that's just life. An ever-moving, ever-evolving schedule :-)

Now a layout share. I thought I'd have a go at this month's 'Scrapjacked' challenge which was to scraplift a layout by the talented Sarah VanWijck, so here's my take on it :

Have a fab Friday! :-)

Alannah's Kindy Photos

Here you go Hayley :-P

Actually there is a bit of a story that go with Alannah's kindy photos - her actual photos taken by the professional kindy photographer went missing...actually the photographer had no recollection of them at all...very strange, because she was definitely at kindy on that day. Anyway, after quite a few weeks of chasing the photographer with no luck, one of the Dad's offered to take the photos, and these are his. So thanks Adam! And what was even cooler, was that I got them on disk...very handy!

Also you might notice that her pigtails are very uneven...not my fault. In the first few photos her pigtails are even, but one must have fallen out, and was put back in, in a very odd spot..LOL..oh well :-) Still cute to me.

Hmm...New Stock

Yesterday the super funky Rouge De Garance range called "Picoti Picota" arrived. Here are just three of the 10 papers. Again all double-sided, with a complementing colour on the back.

Also on their way are some of the new chipboard designs from Buzz & Bloom, designed by the lovely Lusi Austin. They should be here early next week.

Other things new in store : Scenic Route Paper Co "Loveland" range, Love Elsie "Zoe" papers and cardstock, 2 new class kits designed by the talented Tam Milborn and some Hambly 12x12 Overlays.

Will do another post later today, with Lana's first kindy photos. So cute :-)

Red Nose Boy

Just a quick layout share. These adorable photos were taken by Teresa, and I just love them. Jude was born on 24 June 2005, which happened to be Red Nose Day that year. This is a cause that has always moved me to donate to, or be involved with due to the tragic outcomes that some families go through, so the more research that they can do, and the more answers they can find, the better off we will all be. It also makes me reflect how lucky I am to have my two. I must admit that when they were just babies, it was something that I was worried about, even possibly paranoid about. Sometimes even now, I still check on my two during the night, to make sure they are breathing. Anyhow, sorry, bit off track there. I did this layout for the Scrap Therapy comp, with this challenge set by Carole Jansen, being to make something 3D on your layout, so I had a chipboard circle, that I then beaded, for my 3D effect.

We've been having a social weekend, this weekend. Teresa and my friend Kate were over on Friday night for a drink, chat and a little bit of scrapping. Then yesterday we took the kids to the movies to see "The Bee Movie". It was Jude's first time at the cinemas, and he fell asleep about two thirds into it..cute little thing :-). But now apparently it is HIS Bee Movie....LOL. And then we headed out to Nathan & Teresa's for a BBQ dinner. Very yummy!

That's about it so far. Now I'm off to find my table underneath supplies and Alannah's craft supplies too :-P

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday!

A bit of Buble...Michael that is :-)

Today tickets to the Michael Buble concerts became available...and I got some - yay!. In June, Teresa, Nathan, Glenn and my mum-in-law Pam and I are going to enjoy a couple of hours of live music by the talented Mr Buble....and I can't wait!

Not much else to report so far. On the weekend, I managed to finish this layout of my two with their Nanny. Had a play with the Sassafras Lass Owl Pals range, as well as some American Craft Thickers (now available at Kiti Q). I'm happy with this layout, and I love the fact that it's captured a special moment between a grandparent and her grandkids. A real life moment. Something to cherish. I'm sure my kids will love layouts like this when they are my age.

You know that feeling...

Sometimes when I'm creating a layout and things are just flowing, the design is working, and I'm having a ball playing with products, photos and words, I just get this feeling of complete enjoyment and happiness, and it reminds me of the reason I scrapbook....yes, for the memories, but also for this feeling of 'me' time and having a creative outlet. I'm sure you know this feeling, and there is this layout in the latest For Keeps called "Got You" in the Spotty feature, which gives me a warm feeling whenever I look at it because I love the photos (and nope, they aren't perfect!..and yep, I took them...I'm definitely not a photographer :-P) of my son Jude and also I remember how much fun I had creating it. And spots are a current favourite of mine, so mixing it all up was just fun!

The next layout is called "High Hopes for 2008" and was for a competition over at Scrap Therapy. Love Nat's site and this competition is loads of fun. It's called "Scrapbooking With The Stars" and each week a challenge is issued by a scrapbooking "celeb" such as Steph Caskey-Devlin, Shirley Chai, and Charmane Koch...I think we are up to week 6, but each week a $25 voucher is up for grabs, and I was lucky enough to win the Rhonna Farrer challenge with this layout. Thanks Nat!

And this layout is for this week's challenge which was issued by Shirley Chai - to use a new photo and new product, so I had a play with the KI Memories Lace cardstock and this photo I LOVE - Dan took it last month of my two little monkeys. So cheeky!

Have a fab weekend!

Photo Play

Just a few weeks ago, my little sis and her son Caden were here, and while we were all doing things as a family (me, Roh & kids, Dan, Ben & kids and Hayley and Caden) we figured it would be a good time to do a little photo shoot...the only pain being that Hayley's partner Alan didn't make it over for the visit, so they are minus him. But Dan got our her tripod and camera, and we had the boys transfer an antique couch (thanks Dannii!) into Dan & Ben's wild backyard and off we went. The one of all the kiddlies was actually printed on a canvas for my parents 30th wedding anniversary which was last week. Happy (belated :-P) Anniversary Mum & Dad! xx Love these photos :-)

A Busy, Busy Weekend

Wow...I'm so glad this weekend is over. Do you ever feel like that? We had so much happening, that it was just a relief to have it finished with. Don't get me wrong, it was still a good weekend, just so busy.

My hubby, his brother and some mates had organised a night of comedy on Saturday night, which took a lot of preparation, organisation and costume antics, on their part, and on Teresa too, and other last minute ring-ins :-P. But my hubby was the MC for the evening, as well as having acts too, but here he is in all his glory dressed up as a pirate....and yes, that is a banana in place of a hook...LOL...we just ran out of time and forgot about that small detail - it did make everyone laugh though.

Poor Alannah, in her innocence, asked me if Daddy would put his leg back on before he came home (he's got it strapped up behind him) LOL...such a sweet question.

Yesterday we headed down to Mornington to visit our new niece, and she is just the most cutest thing ever. So tiny and perfect. Alannah couldn't stop looking at her. Then after our visit we headed off to the beach for a bit of a play. Here are a few beach shots...

I just finished uploading some new Thickers to Kiti Q...if anyone is interested ;-P.

Ok, I'm off to do some housework.

Me....President?

Crazy thought right? Well, last night I tottled off to Alannah's kindy's AGM, like the good parent I am, positive that I was just going to pay the fees, pick her sessions and possibly put my hand up to help with some fundraising. Hmmm.....yes, well, that was the plan. LOL. But at the end of the meeting when nearly all committee places had been filled, there were still the three main ones that no-one really wanted to volunteer for - President, Treasurer and Secretary. As all (or most) kindys are run by the committee, no commitee equals no kindy, so it was very important that these positions were filled. My brave, lovely sister DQ put her hand up for Treasurer, and so I thought, why not add to my crazy busy life with something else, so there you have it.....I am now the new President at my daughter's kindy for 2008. It's going to be a huge learning curve, but after a night's sleep, I don't think it's going to be too bad. And Jude will be going there for the following two years after Alannah, so I think it's going to be a wonderful opportunity to be involved in the development of the kindy, to make it a fabulous learning environment for both Jude and Ash.

Sooo....definitely an interesting turnaround...LOL :-P

Anyone else done this before? Please tell me it's not too crazy?

I know, I'm dreaming, aren't I? he he

It's Out....

This secret that I've been holding onto since early September, that is.

I am super excited to be able say this now - I am, along with the talented Nikala O'Brien, Janine Kaye and Kim Ogden, on the 2008 For Keeps Elite Team. I was completely taken aback when I got the call from Julia, and I feel so excited to be part of this years team, and the projects that we will be assigned. It's all a little surreal actually, that the secret is no longer secret ...LOL.

FK's Issue 60

This month I have 3 layouts in For Keeps. Here are two of them :

The "WWW...and then there was YOU" layout was so much fun to do, completely tongue-in-cheek and I loved playing with all the hot pink and orange.

The "What I Am" layout actually seems to have been photographed with my centre transparency all skewif (is that even a word..LOL), and so here it is all straight, as it should be, with the fab little ceramic flower made by Crafty Matters as a centre focal point, next to the photo.

This issue is packed full of some fantastic layouts this month, and especially cool is that Dan has two layouts in there too :-). I so love that Dan and I share this hobby.

The countdown is on now until my little sis Hayley and adorable nephew Caden arrive in Melbourne for a few days - 4 more sleeps to be exact. I am hanging out for my Caden cuddles and kisses cos he is just soooo adorable (hmm, yep, definitely a doting auntie!).

Thanks for visiting. Enjoy the rest of your Sunday!

New Shop Stuff :-)

New Queen & Co Felt Fusion Ribbons arrived last week, and look absolutely gorgeous. I had a play this weekend with one of the black scroll 1.6" ribbon, and it is very nice. And at Kiti Q I have priced them at $1 less than the RRP - so bargains are available all round!

Here's some peeks - these are all available now at Kiti Q :

Also on their way are 3 new Bam Pop Stamps - "N is for Ninja", "M is for Monster" and "Double Bubble" - all very cool. There is limited stock arriving for the first shipment, and personally, I'm in love with the little Monster - so cute :-P

My New 'Do'

Yep - I went to the Hairdressers and after 3 hours!! this is what I now look like :-) Yes, as Felicity said when she saw me, I'm getting shorter and blonder each time. I'm really happy with this cut though - LOVE my hairdresser!!

Anyway, just thought I'd share for my Mum and Dad, sis and friends in SA, that I don't get to see too often. I know Hayley will want to see, but that's what having sisters is all about :-P

At the moment, the background noise is Jude and Rohan doing the Playstation Singstar game. Roh's got "Pump Up the Jam" as his selection, and Jude is just saying "Jam" into the microphone repeatedly - it's very cute and funny, while Lana is dancing around with a torch as her microphone, again very cute. Love this game!

Tomorrow Danielle and I are off to Crop 4 A Cure in Hallam. I've been told the talented Ngaire Bartlam and Suz Doyle are doing Make & Takes there, so I'm really looking forward to that. And a day out scrapping - what could not be good about that? LOL. Danielle has created this absolutely stunning mini album that will be up for auction tomorrow - I'm in love with it. Hmm, maybe I'll bid for it LOL.

We are off to dinner tonight to a family restaurant favourite - live band, dance floor and prawns - a combo for a great night out - yum!

Enjoy your weekend, whatever you are doing.
