Winter Woolly Cosiness

It's done - I can finally tick one off of my 'WIP' list, which whispers at me, in the back of my mind whenever I start a new project. But I am happy to say that I pulled out this jumper with a mission to complete it on Sunday evening, and finish I did....and just in time too....

And for my very first piece of knitted clothing, I'm quite happy with the result. It's not perfect by any means, but it fits (with a bit of room for growth, especially in the sleeves), it's warm and it looks like a jumper. So, all good :-)

For a Far-away Friend

Last week I posted this off to one of my oldest and dearest friends, Cass...

Just another reason why I love Pinterest - Cass had pinned something similar to this as something she thought was cute, which not only gave me the idea but the link to the basic tutorial at Design Sponge. A very cool site, yes indeedy!

So, just wondering, do you pin?

Creative Space : Pinks & Browns

Not together, mind you, but these two colours are in my creative thoughts today...

The pinks.....a crochet beanie for my niece Sienna, as requested a little while ago when she saw the wool. It's about half way there.

And the browns - in the last 24 hours I have had two lovely, generous friends gift me some stacks of fabrics, including cord, which is one of my favourite fabrics ever.

I'm in love with this top striped cord (maybe some toddler boys pants?) and the caramel paisley printed cord, which I think will make a very stylish jacket, so I'm itching to find a pattern to work with, for it.

So I am itching to craft sometime today...if only the housework would stop beckoning me, and the washing would stop multiplying :-P

Maybe I can squeeze in a little crochet before school pick up....hmmm.

Plenty of creative spaces over here, why not come play along?

Oh,..just look at that...

It's the perfect kind of weather for a magazine peruse and a cup of coffee, don't you think?

Nothing like a little eye candy, and children's fashion inspiration to top off your afternoon, before picking up the kidlets from school.

Especially when that magazine....

has one of your products in there...yes, I know, how exciting, right?!?!

Polkadot Lane is mentioned in the latest edition of 'Shop 4 Kids', along with my dinosaur library bag and contact details...

And it's not even right at the back :-P
I think that just made my week.

Levi's New 'Do

I did a terrible thing..I had Levi's curls cut off. Don't get me wrong, I loved his curls but due to a couple of things, it was time for a chop.

And I think he looks spunky like this....and a lot more like Jude, and it's nice to be able to see his face...so mum, here you go...Levi without his curls

Creative Space : Felt & Floss

It's so nice to not have any markets looming.

And it's even nicer to craft for crafts sake, for fun, for friends, for the love of making.

Just a small felt project I'm working on, for a far-away friend.

Makings aplenty over at Kootoyoo.

Makers Market Finds

Last weekend I spent my Sunday at the Mulgrave Makers Market, with my lovely friend Kate.

It was quite quiet, being Easter weekend, but I did manage to pick up a couple of things that I have had my eye on for awhile.

These earrings....

Now I had these earrings, by Looby & Lulu, on my wishlist back in December, but they had sold out. So when I saw them last Sunday, I just had to buy them, and they are just too cute!

And then these lovely spoons.....

from my friend Jane (we go way back to my Kiti Q days) and her business Kabwares. One of the spoons (the more decorative one, which is actually mostly hidden behind the tag :-P) reminds me so much of my childhood - either my parents or grandparents had this same set, or something eerily similar - so with that nostalgia in mind, I just couldn't leave it behind.

And buying direct from the Makers is such a lovely way to shop too, don't you think?
