Today I designed a new class for one of my dearest friend's classroom blog - The Crafty Cat Classroom - and the best thing about it is it's completely free! You can use your own products, or buy new ones, but either way, you can create a quick multi-photo layout without having to think too hard - sounds good to me! hehe
Here's the layout, and you will find the step-by-step instructions over at the blog :
Also, I got confirmation from Anne at For Keeps that I will be teaching two classes at the Sydney Papercrafts show at the end of October/early November. One is a 6"x4" mini album cover which is for beginners, and the other one is a layout class for the more intermediate scrappers. Both are bright, funky and full of butterflies and flowers. Will put up an image here when I know if I can or not..lol...:-P I'm so nervous - I've never taught a big class before, but I'm sure we will all have fun - well, that's the plan!
Ok, I have to go and start dinner. Oh, the joys!

Round 4 of SYTYCS and more..
Lucky me - thanks to some lovely ladies voting for my layouts, I have made it through to Round 4 of the 'So You Think You Can Scrap' comp over at the Scraptacular website - woo hoo! So here is my Round 4 submission - the challenge was set by the fabulous Clair Bremner to use tape (decorative/masking), rub-ons, to write directly onto the photo and to use bright colours. The photos used in this layout were taken by Dan, at Teresa's baby shower. Reeze looked especially beautiful and glowing that day.
I also had a little bit of a shopping spree, at The Scrapbook Scene in Burwood with Dan and Reeze. I picked up some Cosmo Cricket 'Jack's World' which I've used in this layout of Jude, and then I also got a good selection of Basic Grey's new range "Urban Prairie" which I am totally in love with - it's just so pretty! (Have used some of these products in the "heart happy" layout below) And it's been awhile since Basic Grey have excited me about one of their releases. I also picked up a few sheets of Basic Grey's "Offbeat" and "Granola" which grabbed me. Sharon and Janet make visiting the shop so enjoyable, I end up spending a good percentage of my time there just chatting to them :-P...and on Saturday I also ran into Felicity there too, which was fantastic as we hadn't caught up in absolutely ages!
I've got one more layout half done on my desk, which I will finish off tomorrow. Am just loving this hobby at the moment!
Have a fab week :-)

Some Photos from today
Just a few photos from our day. We headed back to the Tulip Festival with lots of friends and family and had a fantastic day. I didn't actually take too many photos, but I'm sure Dan & Reeze did :-P

Having Fun
Been having a ball with my scrapping lately. I've been doing a lot of scrapping - although not much of the stuff I have to do...oops! Had a fantastic night out on Friday with my girlfriends, scrapping and chatting. I started two layouts on the night, and finished this one off of Caden on Saturday night.
ETA - Layout "Cheeky Monkey" has been removed for publication.
Then early yesterday morning, I designed the cover for my mini album (although it's actually 8.5" x 11" so not quite so mini) for all my renovation ideas, notes, colour charts, furniture ideas, etc. And the inner cover will have all our 'milestone' dates throughout the extension, recorded.
Hopefully I'll continue with this - I do have the habit of starting mini albums, but not actually finishing them (I have about 3 in my unfinished projects pile :-P) so fingers crossed I keep this one going.
Ok, I've got to go and get ready for work. School holidays this week, so the kids are going to Auntie Dan's while I work. I'm sure they'll have fun :-)
Take care xx

A Tiger, a Butterfly and some Tulips
Yep, today we headed to the Tulip Festival in Silvan. Rohan had promised his mum we would take her, so we did. Unfortunately we got rained out! I only got to take a few photos before the rain but here they are. Also the kids got their faces painted and the ladies did a brilliant job. Jude took his tiger face very seriously too...lol.
Lana is looking so grown up now.
Fortunately for me, I'm heading back to the tulip festival on Wednesday with Dan & the kids, and some friends too. It's promising to be a fine day, and it's a 'children's day' with petting zoos, children's crafts, a fairy and a heap of other things for kids - should be a great day out for a school holiday adventure, and hopefully I'll get some more photos :-)
Will be back tomorrow with another finished layout, or possibly two!
Enjoy your Saturday evening :-)

2 New Layouts
First off is my attempt at Round 3 of the SYTYCS comp as set by the lovely Kim, part of which was to ink all paper & photo edges - something very different for me. I ended up using a hot pink Stampin Up ink for the papers, and a cream ink for the photo. It was also a challenge to just use one 6x4 photo. This layout turned out a lot more over-the-top than first anticipated. In my head I wanted to use some pink, and I wanted to use jewels and ribbon to represent a flamingo feathery tail....and I got a bit carried away :-P
Here's a close up of the flourish 'tail' made from ribbon, hand-stitching and jewels (prima bling & kaisercraft rhinestones).
After finishing that one, I really needed to create a less detailed layout, just to clear my head...hehe.... This one is inspired by the lovely scrapper Belinda Venables, and I must admit how much I loved completing a layout quickly, and the kraft background really worked for me this time. This one is actually for the September 1,2,3 Challenge Blog which is to use the colour teal, spots and scallops. I loved that I finally got this layout done, as I have had this quote from Jude written down for quite awhile now..he still says this, and it's just so cute.
I'm off to a scrapping night with some girlfriends in a couple of hours - yay! It will be great to get out of the house, as both kids have colds, and Jude is just not happy at all about it. So some fun is much needed...lol.
Have a great weekend!
Oh, BTW, we got our building permit this week - woo hoo!!

Kiti Q Fun
Last week, the lovely Ruey sent me a design team kit featuring lots of Pink Paislee Pop Fashion, some Elle's Studio, Scrapware, Rosa Moka Alphas and Dottie Ann Mesh, so yesterday I sat down and created these two layouts using nearly all Kiti Q products...
The pink flowers are actually cut out of KI Memories Lace Card "Posies" and I've recently started using staples a lot on my layouts - so quick and easy to attach things - yeah, I know, I'm about 3 years behind with that discovery...lol....

Action on the home front - yay!!
Yesterday while I was at a work training session, my hubby and his brother were busy destroying my side garden - all with my approval :-P - to make a path for the excavator to come in and do our screw pile stumps in a few weeks, for our extension. The path is half done - woo hoo...here is a piccie..
As you can see, we live on the top of a hill, which is why we've had so many problems getting our planning, and then building permit, but it looks like we will be getting the building permit this week - another yay! In my excitement, I even picked up some paint swatches..yeah, I know, I'm slightly premature in my thinking but hey, it's fun!
Here are a couple of random shots of the kids having scooter races in our front courtyard. They had a ball.
I finally got my sub copy of the new For Keeps Creative Paper, of which I have an article in, as well as the elite team project. Here's one of my layouts from the article :
And here's a photo of the mini album I made for the baby feature :
I was really happy with the way the mini album turned out - LOVE, love, LOVE the Cosmo Cricket Blackboard mini album - so easy & fun to use. This was the 'Jack' album.
Ok, well that was a long post for me :-P but full of pictures so hopefully not too long to read!
Have a great Sunday :-)

SYTYCS Round 2..and little robots
The Round 2 challenge was announced last night, by the arty & fabulous Dee Molina. I felt inspired so created this layout today :
I took this photo of Roh and Jude when we were in South Australia last time. Love it!
Last night I ordered these robot window decals from Baby's Got Style for Jude's room. I like planning ahead, and these are on sale, so I couldn't resist. Aren't they funky?
Nothing much else is happening. Still having dilemmas with our building permit, and the stairs - aarrgghhh!! so frustrating. I finally got my hands on the new For Keeps - I have an article in this one, including layout templates for scraplifting, as well as the elite team project which is baby themed this month.
Take care, Kell x

SYTYCS Round 1, and other things...
Well, the first scrap-ography challenge for So You Think You Can Scrap competition over at Scraptacular was launched on Wednesday night by the very talented Rach Scholz, and I've already got it done...shocked? lol...I am! Here it is - my super suave son in his suit & tie..
Lots of stuff to do with the house and house extension has been happening. Our building permit is within reach with only one minor thing required..well, it could've been major if it wasn't picked up now - apparently the draftsperson had designed the stairs too low, which didn't allow us to actually open our backdoor..so slight problem..lol....Anyway, it's being fixed and hopefully next week I'll be super excited to have our building permit.
Has anyone seen Issue 70 of For Keeps yet? I haven't seen it or received my sub copy yet, and I was just thinking, wasn't it due out last week? Hmm, not sure.
I haven't got much planned this weekend. The kids have a 'crafty critters' party to go to tomorrow arvo, but that's about it for plans - yay. I love having a 'free' feeling on weekends.
Enjoy yours :-)

New Blog with a Giveaway
My beautiful friend Cass, has started up a new classroom blog, and to get things rolling she is doing some give-aways over the next two weeks - VERY COOL give-aways. I know she plans to have classes up on the blog soon by scrappers such as Kate Mason and even me :-P.
So why not go and visit The Crafty Cat Classroom and put a comment in to be in the running for some free goodies?
