Ingram Family Photo Shoot
On Sunday, I organised for all Roh's side of the family to catch up at Brighton Beach for a photo shoot with my lovely and talented sister Danielle. I really wanted to get some photos of the grandkids/cousins together for a pressie for Roh's parents anniversary (dont worry - they don't read my blog! :-P) as well as an up-to-date pic of Roh and his 4 brothers. So far, Dan has emailed me about 15 photos, and as usual, they are fantastic. Here are a few favs...

Best Buds - A Layout

Here's my take on the 2nd August sketch over at the Scrapability blog. Haven't had much time to scrap lately but this one came together quite quickly, and please excuse the photo - didn't realise it wasn't in focus until now, but you get the idea anyhow :-P

A Musical Trip Down Memory Lane
I don't know why but tonight I've been a bit nostalgic, listening and downloading music from my late teen era and it's making me happy to have these great memories, and a little sad that this time passed a LONG time ago...he he...Thought I'd show a few favourites that make me smile...
C+C Music Factory - Things that make you go hmmm...
Hoodoo Gurus - 1000 Miles Away
Dee Lite - Groove Is In The Heart
And some other favourites :
No Doubt - Just A Girl
Counting Crows - Mr Jones
Harry Connick Jr - (I could only) Whisper Your Name
The Sharp - Talking Sly
Jeff Buckley - Last Goodbye
Pearl Jam - Daughter
I would put some links in but have to run - bedtime for the kids and I'm running solo tonight while Roh's at the movies :-P
Have a great weekend!

More House Pics
Lots of little things are being accomplished at the moment, along with some big things too. Here is my study/craft nook which is just offside of the kitchen. It was only framed in and plastered over this last week, as it made it easier to get plasterboard into the other rooms without those walls there. I'm very happy with it though - it's a great size and when planned out right, will fit my hobbies as well as the usual paperwork stuff in there nicely. I would really like to do something interesting on that main wall but not sure what yet - wallpaper? decal? funky paint colour? stripes? Hmmm....
On Monday, Roh had his RDO so he framed in the wall of the stairwell, the downstairs part. Our new stairs should be ready for pick up by the end of the week which will be great. I think the rumpus room is getting plastered this weekend, and then the stairs can go in.
This is the view from our front door - this is where most of our kitchen will be - it's a U-Shape kitchen and the bench/cupboards on the left hand side start at the same level as the little wall so it does go out a little wider than this picture.
And here is our kitchen. Roh picked it all up on Monday too and has already assembled 7 or 8 of the cupboards. I think there must be a mark on my camera lense as that big white dot on the charcoal board isn't actually there...lol (note to self - clean camera lense!) I can't wait to see this installed :-) A real kitchen at last! (well, soon :-P)

Cornice is being delivered today, and we finally decided on our kitchen tile splashback (mini mosaics) and our ensuite tiles (which was an on-going saga of it's own) and they will be delivered next week. Roh has the last week of August off, so fingers crossed a lot of work gets done that week.
Take care x

Stitching & Knitting
At the moment, it's all about stitching - knitting, crochet, sewing...I've been finding lots of inspiring fabrics and wool and patterns and am just itching to start making stuff.
Here is my very first ever, complete crocheted granny square, which I finished last night, and I'm already half way through my second. I'll think I'll make it up into a blanket for our new lounge area (and yes, I am still knitting the other throw blanket..it's taking forever but I'm over half way there - yay!)
When my parents and Nan were visiting, we (Mum, Nan, Danielle, Kate, her Mum and her MIL) all went to the Craft & Quilt Show in the city. Lots of fantastic handmade items were seen and lots of ideas and 'want to learn' skills resulted for me (thus, the crochet..lol).
Below is my loot from the day. My gorg sis Danielle bought me the 'Kaleidoscope' book which I had been wanting since the day it was released. The other items I bought from the Kelani stand (as well as an Aunty Cookie Eye Chart Screen Print Cushion Front). I am in love with this Amy Butler August Fields fabric - I plan to make the flower cushion from the Amy Butler pattern. But first I'm going to try it out on some more disposable fabric :-P

Today...
You may find me here...

And then even possibly here...

I'm looking forward to a day of fun conversation with Dan (and maybe even Kate :-P), good coffee and inspiration in the bucketfuls. A fab way to end the week :-)

July 2009 - House Update
Ok, so lots has been going on with the house, in the month of July, along with the exciting arrival of Cedar, and also having my parents and nan stay with us...yep, I said 'stay with us'..lol...it was the next best thing to camping apparently ;-P
Anyhow, this post is all about the house..don't say you weren't warned....:-)
Here is our beautiful Spotted Gum timber flooring delivery - all piled up neatly, ready to be laid.
Here is some of the timber flooring laid - I must say that I just LOVE this timber - the various colours all randomly placed, in my opinion, looks fantastic!
Next up, our plasterboard was delivered. To say it's been chaotic inside is an understatement, but the piles are slowly diminishing each weekend. And the dust...oh my goodness
And at the end of last weekend, this is what the interior looked like. Our living area has nearly all the plaster up...
Jude and Alannah's rooms have the plaster up, as does the stair well, and part of the hallway.
And here are our two little helpers (on their terms, of course :-P), but it's great for them to be involved too.

August is looking like being another crazy month, but so many things are happening. This week I picked up the main bathroom wall tiles - a simple white gloss ceramic tile 30cmX60cm, as well as a dark grey pebble strip feature about 15cm wide. Next Tuesday our kitchen/laundry/bathroom floor tiles are being delivered and we can pick up our new kitchen - yay! And within two weeks our stairs will be ready for pick up too. It's going to be great when the kitchen and stairs go in - it will be like a real house - woo hoo!!!
Now, to pick paint colours..fun, fun!
