A Baby Blanket of Roses

I finally finished this vintage styled baby's blanket, just in time for the arrival of my friend's baby girl.

I'm really happy with the finished blanket - it's so soft and lovely...just perfect for a bubba.

This pattern was actually quite relaxing to follow...I even think I would make another one :-P

The pattern was taken from this book, Vintage Crochet, which I borrowed from our local library. Lots of lovely projects in there though.

Back soon with another market update :-)

Market Makings

This Sunday I will be at the Mulgrave Makers Market, so the rest of this week (around school/kinder end of year things, meeting a friend's new baby girl, housework, baby-sitting and general life) I will be sewing.

So far here are a few finished items....

Here's hoping there will be plenty more to share at the end of the week!

Today...

.. we finished off some signs...

.. I stewed some apricots - yum!

.. this little munchkin and I played together on the floor for a while...

.. I folded washing, cleaned floors, tidied the kitchen and re-discovered my breakfast bench under piles of fabric and other crafty matter...

.. I played Spiderman Uno...

... with my superhero mad little man...

... I baked two banana cakes, which are currently cooling, before I finish them off with a white coconut icing...

and I'm about to head back into the kitchen to make up a tray of lasagna for our first family dinner in a week.

Today, was an almost typical Monday.
Today, my kids mostly behaved themselves (so far!)
Today, I've got absolutely no sewing done.
Today, my darling husband comes home.
Today, my world will be right again.

An Ewok, little Tron and a blonde with a 'fro

Just a couple more shots from the dress up party...

Our little Tron..

Our 80's chick, with big hair and tulle bow...

And this photo I pinched from my sis-in-law Reeze (thanks babe!) as I didn't have any of me on my camera - me and my little Wicket...

Back soon.

The Making of Soundwave

My darling hubby Roh spent hours making this costume up for the 70's/80's party we went to last night, so I thought I'd dedicate one post to the making of it...

So far, so good..

All finished, final touches added, looking pretty spiffy..

Boxy, but spiffy...he he...

But I suppose the question is....could he dance?

Oh yeah...he could dance :-P

Back later with a few shots of the other costumes.

My Creative Space..

Costume 1 complete - yay! 3 more to go :-P

My space is all about creating and sewing up party costumes this week. I finished Lana's 80's inspired dress yesterday afternoon, and she was so excited. Having never, EVER made anything like this before, I was quite happy with how it turned out.

I think if we crimp her hair, throw on some coloured bangles and maybe add some glitter powder to her skin, she'll look too cute.

Now onto the other costumes!!

Head over here for more fun, fabulous and funky creative endeavours..

**Oh, and just a side note to a comment question asked last week regarding my tote bags - Yes, I sell them through Made It and at Mulgrave Makers Market - thanks for asking!**

Inspired by the 70's & 80's

So at the moment I am in costume-making mode for a party we are all heading to on the weekend. Roh's working on his 'secret' costume, while I work on the rest :-P

Here's some inspiration I've found in my research...

Full reveals on the weekend!
